Mandarin Chinese 2 — Heritage Language Class

Mandarin Chinese 2 is designed for students with a Mandarin-speaking family background who have completed Chinese 1 or have equivalent skills. Students should understand everyday spoken Mandarin and be able to read and write basic Chinese characters.

Using 《马立平中文》二年级教材（Ma Liping Chinese, Level 2）, students will expand their vocabulary, recognize and write more Chinese characters, read longer texts, and communicate in complete sentences. Lessons include reading, writing, storytelling, conversation, games, and cultural activities.

Students will strengthen reading fluency, comprehension, character writing, and oral expression while developing confidence and positive Mandarin learning habits. Regular homework, review, and continued use of Mandarin at home are strongly encouraged.
